What They Needed
The Social Emotional Health Department at MSU Extension developed a program called RELAX, focusing on healthy anger management techniques. They required the curriculum to be transcreated and localized for a Spanish-speaking audience. Midway through the project, concerns arose regarding the English title of the curriculum, as it had different interpretations across various Spanish-speaking regions. Additionally, after the initial translation and proofreading, it was decided to shift the entire content from informal to formal text. This necessitated a comprehensive revision, including breaking down the Word file into curriculum-ready segments and reformatting it accordingly.

What We Offered
7C Lingo provided extensive support in transcreating and localizing the curriculum for the Spanish-speaking community. Our approach included:

Curriculum Transcreation and Localization: Adapting the entire content to resonate with the Spanish-speaking audience, including recreating the course logo, color scheme, and graphics.
Text Formalization: Revising the content from informal to formal language as per the new requirements.
Infographic Design: Designing and localizing an infographic to align with the curriculum.
Ongoing Communication: Maintaining continuous dialogue with the client to ensure all feedback was addressed and adjustments made efficiently.

Complications
The project faced challenges due to differing regional interpretations of key terms and the need to shift the text style from informal to formal. These issues required rapid adjustments and reformatting of the content to meet the new specifications.

Conclusion
The RELAX program was successfully transcreated and localized, with clear and effective communication across all project channels. 7C Lingo’s specialized team ensured that the final deliverables not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations, providing a curriculum that was both accurate and engaging for the target audience.
