What is Knorr?

Knorr is a German food and beverage brand that has been owned by the Anglo-Dutch company Unilever since 2000. Unilever acquired Best Foods in 2000, excluding Japan, where Knorr products are made under license by Ajinomoto.

Knorr specializes in producing dehydrated soup and meal mixes, bouillon cubes, and condiments.

Challenges

Our team had to find and screen participants to take part in the focus groups. Additionally, we had to coordinate with executives from Knorr, our participants, and the consulting company we were working with. It was crucial to ensure that all team members were able to facilitate productive conversations and discussions regarding this new product.

Executive Summary

Knorr sought consultation from 7C Lingo regarding the sale of a halal bouillon cube in comparison to a similar product offered by a leading competitor. 7C Lingo successfully organized a focus group for consultation and interviews. By the end of this project, we were able to develop a comprehensive report that greatly contributed to shaping the product for future users.

How did 7C help?

Our team searched for and screened participants who use Knorr’s products as well as those of their competitors. Knorr specifically desired participants from a particular region, so we actively networked and marketed in that specific area. After conducting interviews, we carefully selected these participants for the focus group, which was facilitated by a market research company.
